The entire love story is already written and governed by the fate/destiny of these three. 100% Kikyo is kagome and kagome is Kikyo and inuyasha's heart is enternally bound to their shared soul. I think this sameness plays an enormous role in why inuyasha begins to love kagome so quickly (arguably from episode 7 but definitely by episode 13)..
